Production of the Honda XL 1000 V Varadero enduro touring motorcycle started in 1998 and continued until 2012 inclusive. Initially, the motorcycle was assembled in Japan (with the factory number SD01 until 2001). Then, to be closer to the main consumers, production was moved to Europe: from 2001 to 2011, the motorcycle was produced in Spain (factory number SD02), and in recent years (2011-2012) – in Italy (factory number SD03). In addition to the European market, the Varadero 1000 was sold in limited quantities in Japan and Australia.
