The Yamaha XV 750 Virago, released in 1981, marked the beginning of the Virago line. The early versions of the Virago 750 had the appearance of a road bike, but in 1984, after an update, they acquired the recognizable features of a cruiser with a shortened base.

 

In 1986, the Virago 750 was equipped with a new type of engine, with less power. An improved starter system solved the problem of breakdowns characteristic of the previous version. In the same year, the Yamaha XV1100 Virago model appeared on the basis of the Yamaha XV750 Virago, with a new engine and a corrected starter.

 

The Virago 750 is a classic cruiser with a short base, in the spirit of the 80s and early 90s. There were many modifications, but the most popular are versions with 400, 750 and 1100 cc engines. Production of the Yamaha XV 750 Virago ceased in 1998, and by 2000 the entire Virago series left the market, giving way to more modern Star models: Drag Star for Europe and V-Star for America.
